Additional JustUs Post Training Workshops Delivered

GMT delivered two post training workshops during the month of May. The first of these was delivered in collaboration with Derry City & Strabane District Council. The second was delivered in collaboration with the Rural Community Network in Cookstown

This first workshop was delivered to our first cohort of JustUs trainees and it took place in Derry City’s historical Guildhall in the city centre.  At the request of the programme's trainees the workshop included two presentations from organisations representing minority communities in the district council area.

Out North West & Cara Friend delivered the first presentation on LGBT rights and this presentation also explored some of the issues and challenges facing the wider gay community right now.

Stronger Together delivered the second presentation and it focused on providing factual information for trainees to enable them to challenge myths and negative perceptions some young people hold about the migrant community and asylum seekers here.

The second post training workshop was delivered to our second cohort of JustUs trainees and it was done in collaboration with the Rural Community Network (RCN) in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone.

This workshop afforded trainees the opportunity to reflect and discuss participant learning post our two-day training programme in February, review and trouble shoot any issues that have arisen for participants since then with regard to their use of JustUs within their respective organisations.

Thirteen of the original fifteen trainees were also presented with certificates marking their graduation as GMT accredited facilitators of the JustUs Workshop Education Programme.
