Second District Council Group Begin Facilitating JustUs Training

Over the course of 2 consecutive days in mid-November 2018 GMT delivered its 'Facilitating JustUs Training Programme' to a second cohort of youth education practitioners drawn from across the Derry City & Strabane District Council area.

DCSDC II GroupIn keeping with contractual arrangements made with Derry City & Strabane District Council (DCSDC) via its PEACE IV Programme, which is to deliver 2 phases of JustUs training to youth education practitioners over a period of 2 years GMT delivered the first part of phase 2 to a group 15 experienced youth educators in the city's Millennium Forum Theatre.

Workshop Conversation

As with phase 1 of the training programme for 2017/18 this inital and more intensive element will now be followed by 3 half day workshops, which will be scheduled to run over 2019.

As with the delivery of phase 1 JustUs training over 2017/18 GMT would like to acknowledge that this particular delivery of its 'Facilitating JustUs Training the Trainer Programme' has been supported through the European Union’s Peace IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

Having just participated in two days of 'Facilitating JustUs Training' youth development worker Fiona Corvan with Derry based organisation Reach Across and youth support worker, Brigid Mongan with the Donegal Travellers project, who are based in Letterkenny give their views on that experience and on the JustUs Workshop Education Programme itself.
