The JustUs Focus Group Phase Completed
The Focus Group Phase of the project began in September 2012 and was completed in January 2013. Gaslight Media Trust (GMT) conducted a total of 26 Focus Groups in schools and youth work settings across Northern Ireland to more than 250 young people.
The focus group phase had three specific functions:
- To enable GMT to identify and explore the key identity issues relevant to young people growing up here in the context of a society still emerging from decades of violent political conflict and in particular on how its legacy has the power to shape and define young people's identity today.
- To begin the process of building of relationships with schools and teachers and with youth centres and youth workers.
- To identify young people to be as potential interviewees who will eventually go on to appear in the programme’s set of digital resources.
